Kippy is finally complete! I'm hoping to be able to snag a few copies for Philadelphia's Wizard World convention :) Regardless, I will be there with prints & my portfolio as usual. I'm just relaxing and doing "fan art" (something I haven't done since I was in high school nearly) to make prints for. I'm a big Xbox Dead or Alive fan and maybe I can throw some Halo in there too :) Gotta let the nerdy side come out sometime. Sketches/final art to come!
For now though, I thought I'd show a pet/portrait I cranked out pretty quickly last week. I unfortunately didn't have a chance to get a good scan of it. Here's how it came out...via Android.

This is the first time in a LONG time that I decided to go back to wet media in my illustrations. Being I didn't quite know what I was going for or what I wanted it to look like, it freed my mind some more and let me just go with it. I blew the dust off of my watercolors and started experimenting. It did feel good to just let myself go and be loose. Although I can't say no to color pencils no matter what, I have to say I'm pretty happy with how this cover came out. It's different than what I usually come up with, but I don't mind it.
